Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, this week we continue the theme like last week with some great fishing in Fort Lauderdale specially for the month of January. This weeks report will start out with the trolling bite which has been excellent, on the edge of the reef there has been plenty of bonito to catch which is a little odd for this time of the year but hey I’m not complaining, also a few king mackeral have been biting in the early mornings. Out in the deep trolling has been producing some really nice wahoo lately which in my opinion is probably the best fish you can catch on a fishing charter out of Fort Lauderdale, they have awesome colors and taste excellent cooked or raw as sushi, following up with the wahoo there has been some pretty consistent blackfin tuna action which is always great to see and thats the reason that the wahoo are here as well because wahoo eat the tuna. Last but not least there has been some sailfish action on trolling baits as well and a mahi mahi every now and again. I would say the best bet to try and catch something really substantial would be to go kite fishing with live baits, although fishing with a kite using live baits is not going to be that red hot action with bite after bite the fish that you do hook is going to be quality or quantity. Larger blackfin tuna and larger king mackerel have been eating the live baits fished from a kite and the fish have been in the 20-30lb class. Also we can’t forget that sailfish is the primary target when kite fishing but it is good to see that the other fish are willing to eat the live baits too. We should start to see some big game sharks making there move right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale so that is something to look forward to in the next coming weeks as well as wreck fishing picking up for hard fighting fish like amberjacks. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos of some recent catches that were caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters right here in Fort Lauderdale and remember to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. Its been a little windy the past few days but the wind looks to be dying down the next few days so if your looking to do some deep sea fishing in Fort Lauderdale this weekend would be a good one to do so we would love to show you a good time out on the water. More later…. Capt. Vinnie (954)-559-4700
