Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here this week was a great week to do some deep sea fishing if you were in the Fort Lauderdale area, for the report this week its only going to be an inshore report due to the tropical storm that just passed by. So This week the trolling bite for kingfish has been red red hot, lots of nice sized ones as well, I would say the average right now is around 10lbs with some fish up to 20lbs mixed it. We have been trolling baits under the surface using a planer. A seawitch rigged with mylar and a bonito or mullet strip has been working very well. The kingfish action has been taking place shallow in depths from 60 feet on out to 100 feet. For our next part of the report the bottom fishing for snapper has been red hot as well, when you have a storm like the one that just passed the heavy winds it brings makes the water very dirty, which helps stir up the bottom. The murky water helps camouflage your line and makes it harder for wary snappers to sense danger. The yellowtail snapper bite has been just excellent, as shallow as 30 feet on out to 100 feet there has been some nice sized yellowtail, chumming is essential to entice snapper as well as lighter line. Also mixed in with the yellowtail snapper there has been some mutton snapper as well which is a bigger species of snapper but just as good if not better on the dinner table. If your looking to do some snapper fishing I recommend minimum of a 6 hour trip but longer is always good to, its hard to do it in a 4 hour trip because when your chumming it takes time for the chum to thaw and sometimes it takes a good hour for the fish to show up. Last but not least there has been some really nice sized game sharks around on the reef if your looking to fight something big, lemon sharks and some nice sized hammerhead sharks as well. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos we have of some recent catches caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters also remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like Facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. For this week I would expect the bottom fishing to stay pretty consistent until the dirty water moves out, when the clean water moves in the sailfish bite and tuna should begin to show up in numbers. If your coming down to Fort Lauderdale for the thanksgiving holiday and looking to do some deep sea fishing we have availability! Look us up we will show you a great time on the water. more later….
