Hello Everyone, Capt. Vinnie here….This weeks report is a good one, on the inshore side of things there has been some excellent deep sea fishing going on right now. In the early mornings there has been some red hot kingfish action in depths from 80 feet out to 120 feet, trolling has been the preferred method to target the kings, and fishing baits that are under the surface is key to get bites, the kingfish have been averaging anywhere from 8 to 10lbs with a fish around 20lbs not uncommon, the kingfish bite has been so good lately catching a limit has not been uncommon. Other then kingfish there has been some rather larger barracudas, and bonitos mixed in. Moving a little bit offshore there has been some blue water in the 500 foot range and it seems that the afternoons have been excellent for tuna. In the afternoons with low light conditions has been the best for blackfin tuna. Also there has been a few mahi mahi in the mix which is a good sign that we may actually start seeing a few of these guys in the next few months. Last but not least sharks are still an option of things to fish for and catch, lots of big game sharks are available to catch right now off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. The best baits for the sharks have been a fresh kingfish heads, kingfish being in the mackerel family makes it an oily fish and that oil drives sharks crazy. Some of the big game sharks we have been catching include hammerhead, tiger, bull and sandbar sharks all great fights if your looking to catch something large. This week be sure to check out some of the great photos we have of some recent catches caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters, also remember to give us a follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. Fishing right now is fantastic as we move towards the month of May I would imagine it would stay very good as well, if your coming to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing check us out we would love to show you a good time on the water.. more later….
