Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here to start this report off we have had our first cold front of the year just come through fort Lauderdale, now what maybe cold for us here is not as cold for a lot of our customers that live up to the north. With the first cold front passing though it has opened up a pretty good start to our winter time fishing here in Fort Lauderdale. To start this week off we have been having some really good bottom fishing as of late, there has been alot of snapper biting and some good size ones, mostly vermillion snappers but there has been some yelloweye snapper as well too. A few oddities of the bottom to and by that I mean fish that we don’t catch often. We did manage to catch a beautiful cobia which is great to eat and puts up a great fight as well as some larger amberjack and trigger fish. Trolling inshore has been somewhat hit and miss right now there has been a few kingfish and bonito but everything has been super shallow like 100 feet or less, there has been some sailfish on the move as well trolling has been a pretty good way to get some bites but live baiting with ballyhoo or goggle eye has been the preferred method to catch these guys, the sailfish just started to show up so the bite for them should only get better as we approach our winter time months. Now on the offshore side of things there has still been some mahi mahi out there but they have been sort of far offshore so the longer trip is going to be the best bet on those guys. Lots of exciting things to look forward to as we approach winter time there should be some really good sailfish action coming into play as well as some really good inshore mahi mahi bite while fishing live baits. Also the wahoo fishing right off the coast of fort Lauderdale should be picking up here rather soon around the next full moon. Be sure this week to check out some of the great pictures we have of some recent catches during our deep sea fishing charters, and remember to give us a follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. We will be fishing hard the next couple days so stay tuned for a new report coming soon. Capt. Vinnie 954 559 4700
