Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, for this weeks report its nice to see a some great weather and some great fishing also, so lets start the report this week on the offshore side of things, I think its finally safe to say that the mahi mahi are here and in good numbers, size wise is questionable, one day there is nice sized fish moving through the area and the next day undersize. Seems the fish are anywhere from 7 to 12 miles offshore so either the 6 hour trip or an 8 hour trip would be your best bet. Not much to fish to right now offshore so I have been looking for birds mostly and floating objects, as far as lures goes to catch these guys they are very aggressive and will mostly eat anything, small feathers or mylar seawitches fished with bonito strips is always a deadly combo for mahi. Moving inshore early mornings have had a what I like to call a mixed bag, a bunch of different species of fish but not many of a certain one. Bonito are still around in good numbers as well as a few kingfish and blackfin tuna, afternoons have been producing some blackfin tuna in good numbers. As far as wahoo goes there has been a few around in the early mornings usually before 9am if they are around you will get the bite early. Bottom fishing has been somewhat slow but a few nice catches this week with amberjack, yellow and mutton snappers. All in all still pretty good fishing and great weather for the month of august. Please take a minute and be sure to check out or pictures this week of some great catches caught during our deep sea fishing charters, and remember to follow us on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. Fishing should stay pretty consistent through August and into September so be on the look out for the next report…. more later Capt. Vinnie 954 559 4700
