Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here I have a great report this week so lets get right to it… Seems that the spring time fishery that we love so much has arrived, lots of different things to catch and lots of different fish to target as well, As of right now seems the best bet is early mornings and late afternoons, a 7am start is key to getting on a solid bite in the morning, blackfin tuna have been very prevalent right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale and biting fairly good, trolling has been the nest bet for them but like I stated earlier the earlier the better, tuna have large eyes and when the sun is low light they seem to rise in the water column and feed, towards the middle of the day when the sun is high the fish go deeper and are almost impossible to catch. Other then tuna right now there has been some wahoo around as well and trolling remains the best for them also. Once the sun gets higher and the trolling bite slows down we have been doing some wreck fishing, larger amberjack have been in good numbers on some of the local shipwrecks just off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, live bait like blue runner or baby bonito is a fantastic choice, heavy tackle is a must also in order to catch these fish as they do fight hard!!! Snapper fishing has been somewhat decent on days we have current, sharp ledges and drop offs have been best for them, all in all the spring fishing we have been waiting for has arrived and now is one of the best times of the year to get out there and do some deep sea fishing in Fort Lauderdale, this week check out some of our great pictures of some recent catches during some of our sport fishing charters.
