Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here, this week we have had some pretty good fishing so lets get to it, this week has been a big what we like to call a mixed bag a lot of different species have been biting so that leaves a bunch of options of different fish to target during our deep sea fishing trips. This week starting offshore there has been some pretty good mahi mahi action, we have been finding most of our mahi around 900 feet of water which is about 8 miles off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, the mahi have been on birds and floating debris not as much seaweed as there has been in the past, I can say that the average size of the mahi has been much better then in the last few months, most fish seem to be averaging 10lbs give or take, there has been some blackfin tuna offshore on birds as well and one species of fish that we dont catch often or let alone see off the coast of Fort Lauderdale is blue marlin and we did hook one this week on one of our deep sea fishing trips, the fish was around 300lbs that we fought for 2 hours pretty awesome just to see one in these waters if you ask me. Moving inshore the trolling has been somewhat slow on the reef this week so we have been doing some bottom fishing, there has been plenty of vermillion snappers as well as some really nice yellow eye snappers too. We did catch a few nice groupers this week which is always a nice treat, One was a snowy grouper we caught in over 500 feet of water, and the other was a black grouper caught on a shipwreck right off the coast of Fort Lauderdale. Grouper are somewhat a rare species off the coast here but always a treat like I said to catch and to eat. Make sure this week you guys check out our photos of some of the great catches we had right off the coast of fort Lauderdale and remember to follow us on facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing video and reports. We have some availability for the month of September so if your coming to fort Lauderdale looking to go deep sea fishing please check us out!
