Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here just like the report says this week is about quality fish we have caught this week in fort Lauderdale, To start out this weeks report we will begin with trolling on the reef the kingfish have arrived and have been biting very well in the morning trips trolling anywhere from 80-150 feet off the coast of Fort Lauderdale has been the best area and the best baits have been seawitches and fresh bonito strips have been key, all baits fished on planners to help take baits deeper in the water column have been getting the most action. Just outside the reef there has been some nice sized blackfin tuna in depths of 200 to 400 feet of water some of the tuna we have been catching have been upwards of 20lbs, always great to catch some fresh tuna for a great sushi dinner. While trolling the deeper side of the reef while fishing for tuna there has been a few wahoo around as well now the month of May is not a great month for wahoo there are some around and they are usually large. Something else to look forward to as well is mahi mahi we have been catching a few in depths of 600 feet off the coast of Fort Lauderdale on frigate birds as well as sargassum seaweed patches, Like I always say this time of year if we have any type of heavy easterly wind for a few days you can expect mahi mahi to be around, the ones we have been catching this week have been on the smaller size but still lots of fun and great eating, last but not least there has been a few sailfish around still but they have been much deeper then normal anywhere from 250 feet out to 800 there has been somewhat steady sailfish action. All in all lots of options of different species of fish to catch right out front of Fort Lauderdale this week, be sure to check out some of the great pictures this week from some of our recent deep sea fishing charters including a giant wahoo. This week there is some availability so if your looking to get out deep sea fishing its a great time, remember to follow us on instagram and facebook @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing reports and videos.
