Hello everyone Capt. Vinnie here… Good report this week with some excellent photos of some recent great catches we have had on some of our recent deep sea fishing charters out of fort Lauderdale. This week being Christmas we have been busy with Sportfishing charters and some great clients as well. The fish have been biting this week so lets get right to it. The conditions this week have been North wind around 15 knots which is prime sailfish weather, sailfish have been biting best in depths of 130 feet out to 200 feet of water, we have been targeting them either trolling with seawitches and bonito strips or you can fish live bait using a kite. There has not been much current so trolling has been the best way to cover ground to target them. While trolling we have been catch a nice variety of different sports fish like mahi mahi, blackfin tuna as well as kingfish and a few wahoo in the mix. There has been plenty of action around while deep sea fishing, like I stated earlier trolling has been the way to go with our normal spread of planners and seawitches as well as top lines including seawitches as well as small feathers for the tuna. Fishing the bottom in the daytime has been productive as well if trolling isn’t your thing some deep water snappers have been biting like yellowed, vermillion, and mutton snapper. We have been doing well on these on some of our deeper spots over 300 feet of water using multiple hook rigs called a chicken rig using small cut pieces of bonito. All these deep water snappers are very good eating and actually fight pretty well. All in all plenty of action going on right now from bottom fish to pelagic fish, sailfish bite is good right now but should continue to improve as future cold fronts approach. With the holidays approaching we do have availability so if your looking to get out fishing we would love to have you, also fishing makes a great gift for someone also, look for more reports soon. and make sure to check out our great photos this week too… As always remember to like us on facebook and follow us on instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing videos and reports.
