This week is thanksgiving and I would like to wish everyone and there families a happy thanksgiving from the YB Normal. This weeks report is a fishy one with lots of variety of species we have been catching. We have been doing quite a bit of trolling this week due to the winds and seas but even though it is a little choppy out there the fish are biting! Trolling the reef has had a very good kingfish bite right on the edge of the reef in 80-120 feet of water as well as some bonito and a few sailfish mixed in. The kingfish have been biting best on the troll with planers to take the bait down under the surface, fresh bonito strips have been key! Moving offshore there has been mahi in depths from 200-400 feet all nice sized fish as well most of the mahi we have been catching have been in the 10lb range with a few bigger ones mixed in. The mahi have been biting our surface lines best with fresh ballyhoo rigged, also offshore there has been some nice sized blackfin tuna around in the later afternoons finding birds feeding on the surface is key to catching the tuna small feathers fished far back behind the boat have been working best. We have some availability for the weekend and early next week so if your looking to go fishing now is the time the weather is looking great and the fish are biting!!
