Hello everyone, Capt. Vinnie here this week we have another great report for you guys, starting offshore the mahi mahi have been around pretty consistent in around the 900 foot range, still finding birds is always key to success, but anything floating can always be a great find as well, there has been some seaweed offshore to that has had some fish on it as well. I still recommend booking an 8 hour trip if you are in search of mahi, it can be done in a shorter trip but some days there is alot more looking then catching and that extra 2 hours could be the difference from having a slow day or absolutely killing it. On the inshore side of things is where majority of the action has been, on the edge of the reef anchoring up and chumming has been a great way to target yellowtail snapper, this week we had some very favorable conditions in order to do this type of fishing, there has been some heavy current and calm seas which makes for a good recipe to anchor up and try to catch some yellowtail snappers. Also while anchoring up fishing some live baits have been producing some very large kingfish, the longer you sit on a spot and the more you chum the more fish you attract. Moving a little bit deeper on the troll there has been some kingfish as well, and plenty of bonito action too, although bonito isn’t the best table fare fish they put up a great fight. Early mornings on the troll have been producing some blackfin tunas as well. Last but not least wreck fishing has been good this week when the current backed off there has been some larger amberjacks on some of the sunken ship wrecks off the coast of Fort Lauderdale, live bait has been working fairly well for the amberjacks. Amberjacks are hard fighters and also pretty good on the dinner table. This week please be sure to check out some of the great photos we have of some recent catches caught while out on our deep sea fishing charters, and remember to give us a like and follow on social media platforms like facebook and instagram @Ybnormalsportfishing for daily fishing content. To end this weeks report it seems that the mahi fishing is beginning to heat up as well as some tuna action too, The temps are still hot but the fish are biting so if your coming to Fort Lauderdale and looking to do some deep sea fishing please look us up we would love to show you a great time on the water.
